Under The Bridge

This view of Postbridges bridge was taken some time ago on the moors. i decided to take from an unconventional angle, below another footbridge as it shows it from a different perspective, one very few people will have. I like how the clear water has managed to reflect the bridge and its curves because it was very sunny. Q

Shadows

I took this picture of my cat in the kitchen on another sunny day as this is when its shadow was the longest and most defined. I decided to take it in black and white as the cat is mainly black and white and its shadow was also black and it made the picture better. I like how also the shadow of the window frame has been reflected onto the floor as well, I feel that this frames its shadow as well keeping it all detailed and good. E

Open Wide!

This picture taken in my garden on a very sunny day shows my cat yawning in the sun. I really like this picture as i was very lucky to capture it just as it was yawning an almost Henri-Cartier Bresson-esque type photo. Furthermore i like the whiskers shining in the sun and the grass in the foreground. As it frames and makes sure that the cat is in the middle of the picture and so the centre of attention.H

Daisies at night

This picture that i managed to take when waiting for a bus late at night depicts a daisy amongst other shrubbery when it was dark. I took many photos of this at the time and found that from using many different flashes and macro that this seemed to work the best as it both lightens the picture so you can see what i have taken it of and you can see the intricate detail on the actual flower itself. Lonely Old Dog

This dog that i photographed in the streets of Krakow has amazing character and a very relaxed temperament to it allowing me to take this close-up picture of this dog on the street. I like how that as i have left some space in the picture you imagine to what the dog is staring into, in this almost trance that it has adopted, as without this space then I feel it would not have created the same effect.

The Road of Prague

This photo of a typical street in Prague from a large hill is one of my favourites. I really like because it was taken in black and white this has created this amazing light and shadow throughout the picture from the overcast trees on both the left and the right. Furthermore I like how the very long and straight street just disappears off into the distance and into the light from the dark foreground and is central in the picture almost dividing the two sides of the city the slight rurality of the trees on the right and the urbanised left side all separated by this one long road..

Sweeping view of Auschwitz

Another photo from the Auschwitz camp, but this time from a much higher perspective of the camp with the infamous train tracks which the prisoners were greeted to when entering the camp. I struggled for a perfect shot of the train tracks below, but when i decided to take a step back and take a different picture to what everyone was taking i was presented with this magical photo of this person's hair being swept across the tracks by the wind. A strange coincidence to those prisoners who lost not only their hair on the tracks, but their lives and freedom aswell. S

Auswich Chimneys

This photo depicts the many chimneys inside the Auswich camp protected by the many unforgiving barbed wire fences in which i have left out of focus until 3 or 4 notches down as it draws your eye across the page from left to right. I decided also to put in b+w as i felt it shows how grey, bleak and eerily quiet it was both inside and out of this very emotional visit to the Auswich camp. F

Cycle Frame

I took this photo behind the Berlin Wall when we were taking a quick break i found this lovely old local bike in which i thought it framed other students perfectly. I decided to take it in b+w as the bike seems to have more character. I also like the way how i have left a few people to the left ofd the bike, so you can see what the people are shouting at!! h

Trash that skyscraper MAN!!!
